A FEW THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW...
! Click this box anywhere to close it !
First things first : your computer keyboard can be used to play the Hex Keyboard.
- YOU DO NEED TO GET THE FOCUS ON THE KEY RACK - to do this, simply press an Hex Key with your mouse after loading the page, or whenever keys get irresonsive for whatever reason.
- Be sure to switch to English US keyboard to optizmize possibilities.
- Space bar shifts which Hex Keys your keyboard buttons are binded to, putting the last note you pressed before space bar as binded to the Y key (and the rest follows along). Just to help out with this concept : if you're at the M key and intend to play your next note 2 keys right of it, suppose you press space bar now, you'll then want to press the key 2 buttons right of Y instead of M - just continue your movement naturally relative to the Y key instead of from where you were...
- Pressing SHIFT makes the keyboard play 4 rows lower, so in theory you span 8 rows without the need to shift using space bar.

With the advent of the Sustain version in early February 2025, those who wish the Hex Keyboard to sound like it did before will have to navigate to then and set the max sustain length to something like 2.25 and set the Release option to "Off". Unfortunately a crackling sound is aubible when every note is sounded, especially on lower pitched ones. This is because the samples are positioned right in the middle of waves to only last the amount of time specified and reach their end (Reverb) when they should :(

The tip to obtaining an "Isomorphic" layout (one where the same shape in between Hex Keys will play the same harmonies no matter where you play them) is to put X as only number in the Steps field, and to put 2 numbers in Jumps, the first being higher, and between which the difference is X : Steps : "5" and Jumps : "7,2" will make the trick...

This section is only available in the BETA VERSION, which takes too long to load as per its current code to present it as the public version. This will eventually be remediated by loading the 4000+ presets by chunks of selected tunings as users change form values, instead of all together at page load... Thanks for your patience and understanding.

2025-04-07 : I've made it so the Keyboard's page can be parametered through its url, thus as a work-around until I come up with the Presets Interface, there will be the possibility to Click Here to copy the link to your clipboard. A box with the link will also show/hide upon pressing that button, so you can follow the link in case the code writing to your clipboard isn't supported by your browser...
